My name is Xiangwei Guo, and I will be joining the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley as a Postdoctoral Fellow in August 2026.

I earned my Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Texas at Arlington in May 2026. My doctoral research investigated late Paleogene fluvial-eolian systems in the western U.S., integrating field sedimentology with machine learning-enhanced granulometry, astrochronology, and geochronology.

I seek to integrate geologic observations with data science to better understand Earth surface processes and paleoclimate.
